Mother with little girl: Excuse me. My daughter wants to know if you're a pirate.

Woman wearing bandana: No. I'm just a lesbian.

I gave her my heart, she gave me a pen [Apr. 30th, 2007|10:18 pm]
[Current Mood |nostalgicnostalgic]

So I went down to my local, independantly owned video store tonight to rent a movie. I rented "Say Anything" since everyone I know has told me to rent this movie. It was a cute movie, i'm glad I rented it.

So this wasn't the whole reason for this post. The reason why I write this today is because on the way to the independantly owned video store that I love so much, i pass by another place that I love. As I walked in the back door, i saw that Casco Bay Books has closed its doors forever. This is sad news. I remember all the times that I have gone down there to meet friends for a coffee and some catching up. I remember using the free WiFi to locate a new home, or see what my friends have been up to. That place has so many memories that its sad to see another small independantly owned shop in the Old Port go. I hope something really great takes its place. We need to keep portland independant.

So this is all for now.

thought of the day [Jul. 21st, 2006|11:34 am]
"what doesn't kill us, only makes us stronger"

*Now i just need to keep repeating that to myself in order to make it through the chaos.*

Daily dose of destiny [May. 19th, 2006|12:44 pm]
Visions are important today -- your imagination, dreams and fantasies offer you insight and confirm a few suspicions. You've been in a fog about someone for a while, and a conversation with a mutual friend will illuminate some facts you were previously unaware of. Don't get discouraged. Instead, be up front and crystal clear about what you need and what you want. Go right to the source. Today is not a day to leave things open to interpretation.

not sure why, but this song has been stuck in my head, so i thought i would share [May. 18th, 2006|01:00 pm]

[Current Music |7 Mary 3 - Lucky]

Mean Mr. Mustard says he's bored
of life in the district.
He can't afford the French Quarter high
says it gets old real quick.
And he pales up next to me
and scrawled on the pavement
It says: son, time is all the luck you need.

Chorus: And if i stay lucky then my tongue will stay tied
and I won't betray the things that I hide.
There's not enough years underneath this belt
For me to admit the way that I felt

Mean Mr. Mustard says don't be the wave that crashes
From a sea of discontent, he says he's wrestled with that blanket...
It leaves you cold and wet any way you stretch it.
Divine apathy! Disease of our youth watch that you don't catch it

And I'm the wave that crashes....
From a sea that turns itself
And inside out every chance I get to
see what it's like in Hell....Hell

it has begun.... [Apr. 29th, 2006|01:46 pm]
I came here to let you know
The letting go
Has taken place
I have held the winter's son
Become one
Set my pace
Isn't that what we wanted all along
Freedom like a stone
But I can say goodbye
Now that the passion's died
Still it comes so slow
The letting go

Piece by piece I take apart
This complicated heart
And I hope to find
Something I can prove is real
I can feel is truth
I can say is mine
That's all I ever wanted to be
The closer that I got
The further I could see
But when lovers change
And the night feels strange
We choose our road
The letting go

I came here to let you know
The letting go
Has taken place
